Cloverleaf Results and Gilmour (Hogwarts) Info

Congratulations to the Junior Varsity squad on an impressive 1st place finish and the Varsity team on an excellent 2nd place finish among some fast competition!  Despite the messy, muddy, swampy conidtions everyone ran tough and did what they were supposed to do... get in front of people!  It's important to remember that in the sport of cross country time is not everything.... it has everything to do with PLACE!  We can use these rainy meets to remind ourselves of that!

Finishing in the top 9 and running varsity at Gilmour:

Maddie Britton
Hanna Sterle
Hallie Bechtel
Alyse Arko
Maddie Voiers
Andrea Hanna
Carleigh Walter
Maggie Harter
Maureen Piccirilli

Trophy Sleepover Winner: Carleigh Walter
Congratulations Carleigh on an outstanding 1st varsity race! It is very easy to get intimidated by the competition and even your teammates who have been there before, but you ran physically and mentally tough and we are so proud of you! Even with the messy conditions you did a nice job running consistently throughout and you should be very happy with where you finished on the team. Congratulations and keep up the hard work. We can’t wait to see how you do in your 2nd varsity race… now you’re an old pro!

Golden Spike Winners: Maggie Harter and Julie Norehad
Maggie Harter: Maggie ran a great race at Cloverleaf and looked strong the whole way! It was a tough day to run considering the conditions but Maggie didn’t let that slow her down, as she came very close to a season PR. She has been training very hard this season and after what we saw on Saturday we know the best is yet to come! Congratulations Maggie, keep it up and we know you will be happy with the results!
Julie Norehad: Julie is a machine! She tied her season PR in the mud and also had perfect splits… two very difficult things to do even on a dry course. This season Julie’s times have not varied more than :21 seconds at every race and if we get some better weather we know that her consistent times will turn into consistent time drops! Keep up the hard work Julie! We are very proud of what you have accomplished!

McDonough Results and Cloverleaf Info

Congratulations to the varsity team on their 1st place finish, the junior varsity team on their 4th place finish, and the open girls on a PR for every runner at the McDonough Invitational!  Everyone did a great job controlling the first mile before the big hill and we were very impressed with your ability to bring back the third mile so fast and strong!  Remember when you look at your splits the last split is for 1.1 miles (the .1 accounts for at least :45 seconds)

Click HERE to see results sheet or as always find it under "race results" to the right.

Top 7 Finishers for the team (running varsity at Cloverleaf):
Maddie Britton
Hallie Bechtel
Hanna Sterle
Maddie Voiers
Andrea Hanna
Carleigh Walter
Jenna Miller

Trophy Sleepover Winner: Andrea Hanna
Andrea did an excellent job striding into the 5th position on the varsity team this week!  She played a big part in our 1st place finish and she showed her will to succeed the entire race…but especially in the home stretch!  Andrea reacted to the other runners and sprinted her way to the finish!  Congratulations Andrea, we are very proud of you!

Golden Spike Winners:  Norah Hoke and Mary Woods
Norah had another great week of practice and a lifetime best performance!  Norah has worked so hard this season and it is definitely paying off!  We are so proud of not only your great running performance but also the perfect example you set for your teammates every day!  Thank you for your dedication to the team!  We can’t wait to see what comes next!

Congratulations Mary on another season PR!  Mary has dropped time every race and we are so excited to see this trend continue.  As a freshman it takes time to get used to the 5K distance and everything that comes along with competing at a high level, and Mary does both with a smile!  Thank you for your positive attitude at practice every day Mary, keep up the hard work and positive outlook and that time will continue to drop!

This is a very tough week of practice.  Please be sure you are drinking at least 64 oz. of water throughout the day, eating plenty of healthy meals, and getting lots of sleep!  We need you to stay healthy so you can enjoy the rewards that come with all your hard work!

We had a successful and exciting day at the Tiffin Carnival.  The varsity team ran to a 10th place finish in the girls Division I A race among some very fast competition....the best in the state!  Tiffin is the second largest xc meet in the nation... so again you should be very proud of what you accomplished among the best of the best!
