Strongsville Results & Gilmour Info

It was rainy, it was muddy, it was cold! You girls really persevered and did what you needed to do. We asked you to stay positive, stay focused, not worry about time, think about passing girls… and you did it! We can’t wait to see you run at Gilmour- should be a nice, dry day! :)

Congratulations to our very own Alyse Arko for being named the 2013 Homecoming Queen!

Queen Alyse!

Ready for the parade!

After the muddy run ; )

Golden Spike Winners:

Emily Neroni - Emily had a great race despite the mud and mess. She works so hard in practice and that is why she sees great results regardless of the conditions. Emily has worked through injuries with a positive attitude over the last four years and definitely come out on top. We are so proud of you Emily, keep up the hard work!

Margaret Sullivan - Margaret is a newbie to xc but runs like she has been doing it her whole life! She runs with consistency and determination and that keeps her dropping time from week to week. Even with the messy conditions Margaret ran tough and stayed close to her lifetime PR. Way to go Margaret, we are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what you do next!

Runners of the Week:

Marlee Berlan - Marlee works so hard at every single practice and sets a great example for the rest of the team! She is the epitome of what a cross country runner should be, hard working and dedicated not to mention very talented. Our only complaint about Marlee is that we didn’t get to have her on the team all 4 years! Congrats Mars!

Andrea Hanna - Drea is not only a talented runner, she makes the cross country team a family. She works hard in everything she does and encourages everyone around her. She takes care of her teammates and cares so much for everyone on the team. She is the heart of Bay XC! We can’t imagine the team without you Andrea, thanks for always being your best!

Wow, great running and good times at the Spartan Invite. This was a new course for everyone and you took it in stride! Now maybe people will stop asking, “Where’s Bay?"

Varsity took 2nd and Open placed 3rd in a very competitive field!  And everyone seemed to enjoy the carnival like atmosphere... and the steak and sausage sandwiches.... looks like we will be going back next year!

Golden Spike Winners:

Josie Uram: Josie had a great race and a lifetime PR of 43 seconds! She consistently drops time due to her strong work ethic and competitive nature on race day! Perfect splits and an amazing finish Josie, we are so proud of you!

Ellie Frey: Ellie had a lifetime PR of 50 seconds and did a nice job running strong the entire race. Ellie has a positive attitude and does her very best every day at practice, which is why she drops time and runs so well on a consistent basis. You had an amazing race Ellie, keep up the hard work!

RunnerS of the Week:

Abby Christel: Abby had an incredible race and a season PR of 10 seconds. Not only was it her fastest race of the season but Abby’s competitive nature was clear as she beat a tough competitor right at the line. After the finish she congratulated her competitor for a great race, which made her coaches so proud ; ) Abby is so focused and NEVER gives up, which sets a great example for her teammates!

Alyse Arko: Alyse not only had a season PR, she won the entire open race! She also had the 6th fastest time for the entire Rockets squad! Like she always does, Alyse ran smart and didn’t get caught up chasing early front runners. She ran with confidence and strength which carried her all the way to the finish line.
