The Bay Girls XC team traveled to Strongsville last Saturday(September 26) for a taste of some big time competition at the Fleet Feet Invitational. 27 teams toed the line for the girls varsity race which featured 5 of the top 10 Division 1 teams in Ohio. The Rockets walked away with a 17th place finish with 476 points. Amanda Cusimano led Bay with her season best time of 19:21 good for 21st place. Olivia Bechtel finished 48th in 20:20 to finish as the teams number two runner followed by Aubrey Crabb(143) 21:58, Meredith Garrity(146) 22:00, Olivia Dodd(159) 22:21, Christina Kinkelaar(182) 23:25, Abby Coe(190) 24:10, and Ellie Frey(192) 24:19. Meredith had a huge personal record as she knocked off 47 seconds off her previous best and Olivia Dodd also had an all time best by 14 seconds.
In the Open, Bay finished in 16th place with 440 points. Abby Christel led with her 32nd place finish in 22:07 followed by London Phillips(85) 23:40, Tera Vangelos(102) 24:20, Abby Buchwald(108) 24:27, Hailey Russell(113) 24:49, Mikayla Nemetz(119) 25:14, Josie Uram(120) 25:23, Mari Vanderkaar(121) 25:25, Rachel Lenarth(122) 25:25, Kara Gillespie(123) 25:26, Maddie Dieterich(136) 25:38, Emma Smith(137) 25:38, Mackenzie Ross(138) 25:39, Olivia Brahler(143) 25:42, Delaney Bly(149) 26:03, Kit Hannum (163) 26:25, Jessica Norehad(189) 27:03, Sara Ferrara(209) 27:32, Sofie Wallace(210) 27:34, Kaylie Harden(215) 27:56, Anne Beckwith(216) 28:01, Abbey Strauss(241) 28:58, Kaylee Norris(247) 29:34, Natalia Burmeister(256) 30:27, and Briana Nosan(261) 31:06.
